Signing a contract without a job description
Many union contracts state very explicitly what duties are associated with various positions. A union plumber can't be expected to paint the bathroom where she is installing fixtures, for example. In another example, if you are covered by an employment contract that specifies your job duties, your employer cannot change them without your agreement. Notice. Check your notice is not unduly long or short. For most employees a notice period of one to three months is usual. A notice period that is too long could hamper you being able to take up a new job, and too short a period may not give you enough stability. If the changes in job description are a contradiction to the employment contract that you signed with the employer, the lawyer would help you prepare a case for breach of contract. Never assume that you have a case, or that your decision to sue the employer is justified before talking with a lawyer.
